We are a team of professional electrical, electronic, mechanical and information technology engineers we can innovate, design, develop, test, verify and manufacture solutions in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. Our services include technical investigations, life cycle testing, reliability analysis, equipment maintenance, specialist test equipment and electrical and electronic repair.

We have facilities, located in Silverwater NSW and Arundel QLD to service central and northern Australia.

DAVID ALEXANDER
QLD Manager

David is an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer with over forty years’ experience. David has worked on large power station construction projects , off shore oil production facilities, Hydro power station reconstruction, Major fibre optic network construction, military special projects and various water treatment projects before his involvement with rolling stock and rail infrastructure.

From 1992 to 1997 David worked as the installation manager for the Siemens team on the design , installing and commissioning of the Metronet radio system on all rolling stock. David provided production engineering support for the Millennium, Oscar and Waratah projects.

Recently David supported Sydney Trains in the Tangara Doors Replacement Project.

David is the Technobility Operations Manager, his experience with managing large scale works allows him to break complex projects, large or small in to manageable packages cost effectively and always achieving on time delivery.

Paul Alexander

R&D Manager

Paul is a passionate Electrical Engineer with over 25 years of professional rolling stock experience throughout Australia.

Paul has over 20,000 hours of electric passenger rolling stock testing and commissioning experience, having an involvement in the successful commissioning on most of the passenger train deliveries since 2000 and is one of the most experienced electrical test engineers on modern generation rolling stock in Australia. Paul established Custom Engineering Solutions in 2008, our previous business and held the roles of Engineering Manager and Development Manager.

Mitchell law

electrical Engineer

Mitchell is a post graduate electrical engineer who completed his honours degree in Renewable Energy at the University of New South Wales in 2019. He joined the Technobility team in 2021 and brings his passion for engineering technology and design to our business. Mitchell conducts investigations, reliability testing, electronic repairs, professional 2D/3D drawings and general engineering duties.

Previously, Mitchell worked as an Energy Efficiency Engineer and Instrumentation Engineer. His skills and experience in engineering, electronics and problem solving has allow Mitchell to provide the high-quality work and standards Technobility has already established.

Steve Wards
Senior Engineer

Steve is a Mechanical Engineer with over twenty years’ experience in the rolling stock industry. Steve has worked with freight wagons, locomotives, and both electric and diesel multiple unit passenger trains.

He has a proven track record in the design, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, overhaul and operation of rolling stock. Previously Steve worked for United Group, Downer and MTR before joining Custom Engineering Solutions as Senior Engineer.

Steve’s experience and attention to detail ensures he can deliver high quality results within allocated time frames.

Andrei Tatarinow

NSW Manager

Andrei is an Electrical Engineer with a broad background in electronics, analysis and testing and has over fifteen years’ passenger rolling stock experience. Andrei’s specialty is in reliability testing, data analysis, including RAMS, FMECA and Weibull.

Andrei has a proven track record in turning complex data analysis into real world results. Andrei previously managed Pirelli Cables NATA accredited test laboratory and performed numerous high and low voltage type tests on new cable products. Andrei also spent 5 years working for Cochlear in product development as Senior Reliability Engineer.

Andrei joined Downer Rail in 2005 where he held a number of engineering and management roles before moving to Sydney Trains as the Fleet Performance Manager in 2013. In this role Andrei was instrumental in performance improvements across Sydney Trains fleets. Andrei has led numerous audits of manufacturing and maintenance processes in accordance with ISO9001.

In 2017 Andrei joined Custom Engineering Solutions as Engineering Manager. Andrei’s experience allows him to systematically determine the root cause of complex electrical issues.

LACHLAN TROUT
ELECTRonics ENGINEER

Lachlan is a graduate electronics engineer who completing his degree at the University of Technology Sydney. He joined the Technobility team in 2022 and brings his passion for engineering technology and design to our business.

Lachlan conducts engineering investigations, testing, electronic repairs and general engineering duties. Recent work includes extensive testing for an Oscar relay investigation as well as investigation into obsolescence and various technical repairs on the Millennium train CSS Communications and Surveillance System.

Lachlan has previously worked at NMI with involvement in software development in high voltage systems. He has a healthy passion for electronics and electrical work reflected through his hobbies and interests.

Matthew Vankirk

Matthew is an Information Technology Engineer who has completed his diploma at Everett College, Washington State, USA.

Matt has experience abroad in the power and utilities industries, electrical systems for Boeing and significant experience in the motorsport industry.

Technobility sourced Matt for our team for his subject matter expertise on motorsport, racing systems, racing teams and his high profile motor racing career.

Jessica price

Jessica is a dedicated and detail orientated administration manager, Jessica has been meeting the administration needs of individuals and organisations for the past fifteen years.

Prior to working with Technobility, Jessica worked with Mirvac Group for 13 years where she held various administration roles and gained a comprehensive knowledge in retail, commercial, finance and corporate matters.

With her analytical mind, keen eye for detail as well as her exceptional computer skills, she is able to perform precise administrative tasks, ensuring financial transactions and reports are accurately represented
